Camille
I just got my FR Tropicalia Anja doll back today. She came with an almost completely blank face and I commissioned Doll Castle on Etsy to do a face-up for me.... and OMG. She looks incredible! A huge shout out to Doll Castle. Link here to the shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DollCastle

Oasis
I have had this playset for quite some time and just got around to opening the box this weekend. Also, if anyone knows or has advice for me to be able to get my photos on the blog from Flickr, please email me at dollsindystopia@gmail.com. Ever since Yahoo made some changes to the interface on Flickr, I can't figure out how to make that happen - and I really would rather my photos here on the blog linked back there. Hmmm. I am thinking it's Operator Error. Help!

Three's Company?
I'm having trouble linking my Flickr photos to my blog... some new change Flickr has made to their site. Hopefully I can get this sorted out soon but until then, I will just upload my photos to the blog and to Flickr. Ugh. I hate duplicating effort.
Having a bit more fun with facial expressions... :o)

A Really Good Find...
Just had to share another picture of the Trixieville chair and ottoman that I've used in my last few photographs. I ordered one more furniture piece from the line and I can't wait for it to show up!
As I said before, these were made for 8" dolls but seem to fit MH, Barbie and DG perfectly. Sometimes you just have to take a chance and it can really pay off!

1:6 Scale Furniture
The hunt for nice, not ultra-cheesy looking 1:6 scale furniture that doesn't cost an arm and a leg can be really tough. So I was delighted to find this little chair and ottoman set by Trixieville on Amazon.com. It actually came with 2 chairs even though I only used one in this particular diorama.
I really don't know anything about the Trixieville dolls except that they were/are 8" plush fairy dolls made by Manhattan Toy. And they don't seem to be easy to find... I just happened upon a few items on a whim while searching on Amazon. I bought this set, another little furniture piece I haven't received yet, and 2 outfits that fit MH standard and MH Howleen perfectly! They were all drastically reduced in price so that made it even sweeter!
As I build my diorama collection, I am learning to really think outside of the box regarding furniture and items to populate my little worlds. Just because something wasn't made for 1:6 dolls doesn't mean it won't work for them. And the simplest item (such as an overturned candle holder) can suddenly be the perfect bedside or kitchen table. :o)

Parisian Dreams
The adorable little chair and ottoman are from an old line called "Trixieville". The dolls were only 8", but the furniture fits Barbie, DG and MH dolls perfectly!

It's All In the Details...
I love putting together dioramas because I love small things. Dainty little items that mirror the full-scale versions we utilize in our own lives. Just wanted to share a couple of close-up pictures of the kitchen area in the previous photographs. I received the Orcara wine set recently and it is incredibly detailed. I have the fruits set as well and I can't say enough about how detailed and realistic these items are. I think I have as much fun setting up these dioramas as I do shooting them.
First, the bistro style kitchen table. I love the wine opener... the set actually comes with everything from wine openers to cigars! And many, many bottles of wine to choose from. I'm a huge wine fan (pinot noir!)... but I don't drink often. But I have to admit there isn't much in the world more wonderful than a good glass of wine!
And now the stove/oven kitchen area. Here's a wine rack - stocked with various wines! We also have some food cooking on the stove top and from the Orcara fruit set, some apple slices on a cutting board. (The knife and cutting board are actually from a Re-Ment set.) As I work on these dioramas more and more, I really have begun to realize how much these little details mean. With each item, you are closer and closer to creating a miniature mirror image of our own full-scale reality.

The New Addition
I really love this set up and I love this family. I'm sure daddy will end up doubling down and having some additional families (until I can get more dolls and certainly as another character!!!), but he looks great here with Trichelle, the new baby and the twins!
