Mad Dash...

So... I am going to spend the next few days taking as many pictures as possible so I will have something to do while making an extended recovery from a series of surgeries beginning in 2 weeks.  Doll photography began for me as a cathartic outlet during a prolonged illness and I have loved it ever since.  It also gives me a great excuse to justify my ever increasing doll collection.

Since I will be bedridden for about 6 weeks, I want to make sure I have plenty to do - so the next week will be spent building dioramas and shooting like a madwoman!  Hopefully I will have enough pictures to keep me busy while I recuperate.

Cheers and good health to all of you!

Just a quick update about my sweet kitten Fritz... he will be 11 weeks old on Monday!  Here's a photograph I took of him earlier today.  He's looking less like a kitten each day and more like a full on tomcat.   Amazing to watch them grow - just wish the "baby" stage lasted a bit longer.  <3

What's for dessert?

See what I'm talking about with the non-articulated legs on the male dolls? What a pain. Poor guy - he's doomed to stand or lay down forever. :o/ At least the arms are articulated - which is an improvement. His hair needed work though. Apparently every time Barbie Collector comes out with a pivotal male body, I need to jump on it. They don't come around that often.

My Moment to Complain...

Why won't Mattel put out more fully articulated Ken dolls?  The Fashionista girls are all fully articulated - why not the boys?  This perplexes me and makes me quite angry.  What am I supposed to do with boys who can't bend their legs?  SERIOUSLY???

Just wanted to share some info about the picture below - "Hedgehog Love"... in particular about the furniture in this diorama.  It's from IKEA!!!  For those of you who have an IKEA near you, this set only costs $12.99 and it comes with so many adorable pieces.  Here's a picture from the IKEA website of what is included:
The set is not currently for sale on the IKEA website so you will need to either go to one of their stores or find someone who lives close to one and have them ship it to you.  The set is very well-made and all the furnishings are  so simplistic - just like the human-sized pieces you find there.

Here is a link to the webpage (US version) with more info about the set: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50263150/

My boy! He's 8 weeks old on Monday! Clearly he already pretty much controls all the humans in this house. :o)

Breakfast with the Girls

Loving the kitchen diorama. And these Chelsea dolls are adorable. The smaller actually is a little off-brand "Barbie" from Walgreens. Just a tad bit smaller so she works as a toddler.
