I got a couple of DG bodies on Ebay for a GREAT price and re-bodied 2 of my Barbie Basics dolls. I think they look great! And I'm loving this Susy Goose wardrobe. It's in fantastic shape considering its age. Also a cheap/lucky Ebay find.

Crafty But Not Crafty

So... I have an idea for a new diorama set up but I'm struggling with my own lack of the "crafty gene" to put together exactly what I want.  To be sure - I have definitely used what little craftiness I do have to make certain elements of my dioramas.... but often my ideas fail miserably or what you are seeing in the photo only looks good due to the magic of Photoshop!  But I'm hopeful.  I'm going to try to coerce my life-mate (who is far craftier than I) into making one or 2 of the elements for me.  And if that doesn't work, I'll take a stab at it myself.  We'll see.  But if all goes well, some new and fun stuff should be coming up shortly.  FINGERS CROSSED!

Kittens + Dolls = DISASTER

Oh Sookie.  Poor, poor Sookie.  I only left you alone on the bed for a minute.  A MINUTE! And by the time I turned back around, you were being savagely attacked by our resident Langolier - a 4 pound psychopath with razor sharp teeth and a berserker attitude.  Damn, girl.  I'm so sorry.  At least the only casualty was her left hand... and it's mostly chew marks.  No fingers lost.  But now I'm on the hunt for replacement hands for DG dolls.  Not finding much luck yet.  Come on, Integrity!  If you sold hand sets for your dolls, I would be on that like a monkey on a cupcake!  Not just because of this unfortunate mauling, but just to have some additional hands with - perhaps - different "attitudes".

If anyone out there is reading this and knows where I can find replacement hands for a DG Sookie, please let me know.  Until then, Sookie will be eloquently hiding her left hand.  That and indulging in a lot of Photoshop.

PS - I just realized that with Rufus' hands currently undergoing an arduous de-staining process, my Electro Pop girls are having a really bad week.  Ugh.

Fashion Avenue

The preceding photos of Sookie feature her wearing Fashion Avenue Barbie clothes I purchased from Ebay.  And what a deal... The Fashion Avenue line of Barbie clothes are my absolute favorite.  I don't think Barbie/Mattel has produced a better-made, more versatile line of clothing since.  And the clothes fit my DG dolls PERFECTLY

Come on, Mattel... start making beautiful, well-made fashions again!  The Fashion Avenue designs were also reasonably priced which also makes them really desirable.  Not all of us can afford to buy clothes from Integrity or other high-quality makers!!!

Doll Parts

So... my Rufus Blue doll is out of commission for what could be a few weeks.  She has very visible stains on her hands due to a pair of gloves she wore too long.  Her hands are currently in my bathroom, covered in zit cream.  Sounds gross, right?  But it works.  The catch is - it could take weeks for the stains to fade.  So poor Rufus is in her drawer - sans hands.  Sookie has the same problem with her legs - she wore some fishnets too long.  I'll have to deal with that later.  But for now, she gets to be the Belle of the Ball.  :o)
